Antioxidant is a substance that protects health of normal cells against damage caused by oxidizing agent. It is usually found in fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains. Generally, antioxidant offers multiple health benefits ranging from promoting eye health, improving heart health, reducing the chances of getting cold and protecting against certain cancers. Among a long list of antioxidant, some of its forms are lutein, lycopene, beta carotene and catechins.

Anthocyanin and tocotrienol are also antioxidant agents that are found in Primera Rice. Anthocyanin offers cardiovascular health by controlling the blockage formation in the vessels where the blood flows to and from the heart. Tocotrienol on the other hand, shows potential reduction in the risk of getting diseases such as stroke, heart disease and diabetes.

Eating a wide variety of colourful food optimally incorporates antioxidant in our diet. The rule of thumb is to eat food in the colours of rainbow. Eating a rainbow coloured food a day for seven days a week by switching the colours every day provides us the way to consume all types of antioxidant from food.
