Kaeng Som Fish

Ingredients

  • Primera red rice
  • Fish
  • Red chili / Dried red chili
  • Cabbage
  • Long bean
  • Cauliflower
  • Shallot
  • Shrimp paste
  • Himalayan salt
  • Tamarind pulp
  • Fish sauce
  • Palm sugar

Directions

Cook Primera Red Rice

  1. Wash 1 cup Primera red rice
  2. Drain the water completely
  3. Add in 2 cups water
  4. Cook as usual

Prepare Curry Paste

  1. In a clean blender, add red chili / dried red chili (to taste), 1 teaspoon of Himalayan salt, 2 tablespoons of shrimp paste and 1/2 cup of shallots.
  2. Blend to produce fine paste.

Prepare Kaeng Som Fish

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to boil.
  2. Add fish and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add all prepared curry paste, 2/3 cup of tamarind pulp, 4 tablespoons of fish sauce and 3 tablespoons of palm sugar.
  4. Mix well and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Add desired amount of cabbage, long bean and cauliflower.
  6. Mix well and cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Serve.
