Red Samgyetang


  • 1/2 Cup Primera Red Rice
  • 1 Pinch of Korean Ginseng
  • 4 Cloves of Garlic
  • 5 Jujubes
  • 4 Gingkos
  • 3-4 Chest Nuts
  • Pepper Salt


Pre-soaked Primera Red Rice

  1. Wash ½ cup Primera red rice.
  2. Soak in water for 2 hours
  3. Drain the water completely.

Cook the Chicken

  1. In a mixing bowl, add in the pre-soaked, 1 pinch of Korean ginseng, 4 cloves of garlic, 5 jujubes, 4 gingkos and 3-4 chest nuts.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Fill the chicken cavity with rice mixture. Make sure only filled the cavity up 70% full.
  4. Cross the chicken legs and tie them with a cotton tie.
  5. Cook the stuffed chicken for 45 minutes in water over medium heat or until the chicken is fully cooked.
  6. Take out the chicken and remove the cotton tie
  7. Serve with the chicken soup and pepper salt.
